Replaying moves and the patch

There have been a couple of times when making my first movements in a game when I decide that my initial strategy sucks and want to do something else.

I email my opponent explaining that no firing or spotting took place during my initial move and request permission to start my turn over. Permission has always been granted. I would assume that with the new "reporting" patch, that this would be the proper way to handle such a matter in the future.
