Oil and Water
I've been inspired by Greybeard's Big Bash and Czerpak's Auction. Big Grin

So here is the Oil and Water Battle:

The year is 2010. The USA is hungry for oil and thirsty for fresh water. Their eyes turn North.

Auction:
Starts : now
Ends : Friday Oct 3, 2008, 10 p.m. (EST)
Slot : 003 or 004
Platform : winSPMBT v4.0
Type of battle : Canada vs. USA Meeting Engagement
Year : 2010
Me : Canada (Player 1)
You : USA (Player 2)
Air Sorties : 3 each
FOO Rule: Yes but does not apply to mortars < 80mm.
Game Settings : Experimental including percentages (as given by Weasel in https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...?tid=43807
Arty : 10%, Only mortars onboard.
Ammo : as per Experimental Rules for mortars, 1 Ammo Section per mortar battery, including SP-Mortars. Additionally one ammo section per battalion for ATGMs, SAMs etc.
Canada points : 35000
USA points : your bet
Map : Suffield Ranges, Alberta, 120x100 (attached) (this is rough terrain)
Length : 30 turns
Special rule for Canada : Since the UK has a training base at Suffield, up to 20% can be UK units.
Victory conditions : excel sheet
Restrictions:
- No turn 0 bombardment
- No turn 0 Paratroopers.
- No mines
- No minelet Arty
- No fortifications
- No reinforcements
- No empty air lifts (recon flights with transports)
- No empty jeeps/trucks used in scouting unless they are designated a scout unit in the purchase screen
- Only units designated as airmobile may be airlifted
- Flags not being surrounded by mines, wire, dragonsteeth or fortifications; there must always be a clear route to the flag
- Killing the opponents HQ gains 20% point bonus of overall players purchase points
- Size 0 units may not capture flags.

Update:
Special Rule for USA: USA gets to buy 15% Arty as per Weasels's Experimental Rules.

I should be able to do 1 -2 turns per week for this battle.

Due to the taxpayer burden of the recent US $700 billion bailout, the player with the LOWEST bid (points for USA) that is above a hidden value (to keep it to serious bids) gets to crush the Canucks. :smoke:
