RE: JasonC: Best CM units (bang for the buck)
Quote:Russian 57mm ATG. The Tiger stopper and StuG killer. Much better than the long 76mm guns.

My favorite when available. Lethal, and can be towed by the lowly jeep, no truck or SdKfz7 required.

Quote:Puppchen. The gamiest tank killer going, with 2-3 times the range and 50% more accuracy than a schreck, for about the same price. Kills anything it hits. Schrecks are pretty good to start with - range limited but reasonably mobile.
I think standard Rarity can make this one a bit pricey.

Quote:Lend lease armor for the Russians, specifically the Churchill, Valentine IX with 57mm gun (dirt cheap too), and to a lesser extent Shermans (pricier). The first is thicker armor than you can get otherwise, and the others kill 80mm fronts when the Germans aren't expecting it. The better AP performance of the Sherman compared to the T-34 is well worth the price difference, especially vs. StuGs.
I have used the Valentine in a few games. I find that its gun will often penetrate a Pz III from the front but it takes several penetrations to knock out a Pz III.

Quote:SU-152s - clobber infantry and good cat killing ability, not that expensive. Worth veteran quality to avoid cower issues and to get first round hits (long reload time, so shoot and scoot).

Tom Enven is in the process of proving this one to me. SU-152s kill almost any German tank, and even a near miss will inflict gun damage and often knock out tanks. A fearsome weapon, but slow to reload.
