Amazon is good for new / mainstream books.

Military book club is OK, but selection is surprisingly limited. If you wait for the quarterly sales you will get a pretty good value buying one and getting one free or etc.

For historical oddities or long-out-of-print books, I love Alibris:

I picked up a beautiful first edition copy of With Napoleon in Russia there a couple years ago for $25. The seller lists the quality of the book, but Alibris backs it up if you're not satisfied.

Quote:Alibris guarantees the condition of every item as it is described on our Web site. If you are not satisfied that your item is as described, return your purchase within 60 days of its original shipment date for a refund.
