True enough for XP and Win98, but Vista's done. 2 years. Windows 7 is due out in May, after an SP2 release of Vista. I've read Vista users will have an easy upgrade to Windows 7 (for a price, naturally), but XP users may be looking at a reformat. Hard to believe that last part, but that's what I read.

Based on the prereviews, if I were in the market for a new computer, I'd still wait and get one with Windows 7 or at least a free upgrade.

The truly disgusting part in all this isn't the wasted money and hastles with the systems, it the gloating from all my Mac user friends that really annoys.
