RE: Valley Lake Playtest/Review Thread
Im a few turns in with me as he allies. So far the 75mm german guns have proved very effective, my scout car force wiped out, a lot of HTs KO'd, but i know where those guns are and i have both 81mm FOs targeting him.

Managed to get a platoon each to 2 of the crossings although my opponent is on the other side. Only scout cars and HTs as far as i can tell but no doubt there will be inf aswell. I placed my TRPs on the crossings so i will call in arty when the guns have been dealt with. I also have an elite zook team at one of the crossings lol so that should deal with the HTs.

105mm FO has scored a few kills so far, mainly light armor.

I left one plt of shermans in reserve and one in hull down positions, lost 2 tanks so far but i have knocked out at least as many of his tanks.

First air support arrived, it targeted a PZIV but my enemy had all his forces grooped together and it took out 4+trucks and any inf that was inside it as the trucks blew up and set on fire.

I still have 1 co still maneuvering on my left flank, one CO just about ready to make a move on the right bridge (i have one Crack armored plt there already)

The middle bridge i have one Arm plt advancing on the center bridge and the CO of reg inf are trying to get down the hill, but the lack of cover is proving a problem, when they get to the wheatfield they're find but getting to the wheatfield is too much for some of the green units.

One thing i have noticed is that on the allied side of the map, the big field that forms the majority of the allied set up zone in the middle is completely walled off, so if you put any HTs in there they will not be able to leave. Fortunately i figured this out before i finished my set up :) I'll fix this by putting more "gates" in, ie fence tiles in the wall.

Still have 1 armored plt in reserve with their HTs.

Another thing i may consider is swapping some of the MMGs for .50 cals, the MMG has a max range of 750m which makes it useless for firing from the allied hills, i believe the MG42 has a much longer range so i think some .50 cals for overwatch may be a good idea.

Will report more as the game proceeds :)
