RE: Open Team Battle - Discussion
For us (the British) the most desperate fighting was around the Hall/Factory (2 V-hex) in the north of Herleville.
C Platoon was decimated in and around that hall, with only Capt Wellington's section, left in reasonable shape, putting up a last ditch defense.
What saved the hall - and perhaps the whole of Herleville - for us, was that we were able to bring in reinforcements from B company down south; just in time.
At that point especially, but throughout the battle, I was worried about the road running south out of Herleville being cut.
We had one platoon in the south of Herleville watching that road. And they only ran into one ATk team.
If you guys had committed a whole platoon, and perhaps a couple of tanks to that road, we would not have got reinforcements to the Hall in time, and Capt Wellington would probably not be alive today ;)
If you'd won a firefight in the south part of Herleville, we'd not even be able to cut across field 48 to get to Herleville and it would be a long way back and around the woods, across country, to get reinforcements in.
Hindsight is always 20-20 of course. But just thought I'd let you know my ponderings.
