Alt or Stock scenarios: Which tend to be better? (newbie question)

In the Typhoon campaign Russia is so strong (thx to to the high number of B and C morale units) that it can counterattack after the 20 th turn, way before the weather turns bad (which worsens the situation of the germans even more)

I am currently playing Typhoon Campaign as Germans and don't recall big problems with Russian counterattacks at the 20th turn mark. Mine happened later than this (around turn 50) but this just emphasizes how all games are different.
