I have no problem running them on a MacPro or MacBook Pro using vmware. The VM I setup is with XP as the OS with 1 CPU, 512MB in RAM and virtual 30GB hard drive.

Also there are recent reviews of all three programs that you may use to virtualize XP on a Mac.
