Have to say, though, that I sure would love to have a hot key for "reserve MPs".

Now, somebody please, please tell me that it already exists. :rolleyes:

Not that I am aware of.
There is only one letter hot key left that is not used. That would be "C".

I think it would be a neat change to program the "L" hot key to remain the same to turn a unit facing counterclockwise, and ALT L to move the unit facing clockwise.
That would free up the "R" hot key to be programmed for the reserve of MP to exit travel (column) mode.
