Actually Rick, IIRC, I have seen situations where both units remain selected. In your example that would be the unit moved to "on top" and the unit in slot three in the stack. This has caught me before where the unit that "moves" into slot three (continuing your example) is in travel mode with MP left and I thought I was only moving the top unit in the stack into contact with the enemy. The poor travel mode unit then gets creamed by defensive fire and / or the enemy in their turn.

This only seems to be the case where the stack is large enough to have unit pictures off screen in the hex info area, (usually positions five and above on my PC) so I miss that two units are now highlighted instead of just one. Rare, but it can happen.

Thanks DS, I will try to setup a test to show the behaviour and will get with Glenn on it if so. I have had that happen to me but figured it was confusion related to specific units I selected and de-selected - in other words, I have never been sure something went wrong because there were so many units involved in so many spots in the stack, and since I rarely move to top except to order units the way I want, it hasn't been enough to blame on that. But I will try and get a test showing it.
