Units on foot can be ferried across any river hexside by any engineer unit, by that i don't mean by the ferry's marked on the map that allow you to cross rivers, but by the boats each engineer unit is deemed to possess that allow movement across hexside rivers.

Full hex rivers can also be crossed by the engineers but they must have the "Has Boats" tag on the image.

In both cases units must be on foot to take advantage of the engineers ferry ability.

Read the engineer section of the rules for full details. ;)
