On Foot Question

RE: On Foot Question
put another way - when DEPLOYED on not in Travel mod - the units are on foot sort of. But there transport is available to load up and move.

The ON Foot status was designed so that MOt units could take action and move into places we Mot units can't go by leaving their trucks - in game terms parking the trucks at HQ instead of in the hex.

It begane necessary in the game for PzC#5 - Bulge when at teh start of the CG a the German have a PzGren unit that were ferryied ON FOOT over the Our River to hold the bridgehead. But we couldn't start them as MOT units because they could mount their trick and move off. And we couldn't have them in teh game as a FOOT unit because as soon as the bridge was built their trucks came across and they loaded up and moved off at MOT Speed again.

It is actually a rather elaborate way to handle the function. It isn't perfect but it works nicely here but certainly gives no advantage to Eng functions. Also - clearing mines is one factor at a time automatic each turn anyway.
