RE: Looking for spiteful opponents WinSPWW2 v 4.5 or WinSPMBT v 5.5.
I too, prefer earlier years. I wanted an NATO vs PACT because I have been on the blitz much longer then my profile would indicate. I have noticed that most of the newer ( since the turn of the century) players are from former Pact nations. It seems to me SP players are drifting apart. I consider that bad.
I would hate to see the SP community go the way of "Eve". Eve is a space based Sci Fi role playing game. In it the Russians have created their own little corner of virtual space and made it Russian only. That carries Russian paranoia a little far. There needs to be one Blitz, not the Blitz and the война молнии
While Russians are paranoid, Americans are arrogant. I think the small things such as playing games together can have big results. Such as bringing us closer. So I am doing what I can to bring that about. MY very own reset button.
With the advent of modern computer based machine translators, Language shouldn't be a barrier.
I picked the mid 70's because it is the most competitive period that had a base of logic to support a tournament of this type. The 60's had a larger base since the cold war was at it's hotest. The problem with the 60's was the USA had focused it's technology on naval and air power. Frankly, the ground forces of NATO were no match for the Soviets. Soviet aviation was no match for NATO. Not even close. NO F-15 has ever been lost in air-to-air combat. the kill ration stands around 110 to zero. So a mid 60's tournament would have been people sitting there watching air strikes. Not much fun.

I designed this tournament just for guys like you. There is NO strict regime of games, no bracket, no draw, no time limits, only one rule. No obligation to play, this game or another afterwards. If you want to try something different, give it a try. Get your favorite opponent, hopefully someone that isn't a member of the blitz and get them to play you.
You don't even need a CD. Player 2 can play any game without a CD. I am comfortable with sending out the scenario files, since 90% of the units ENTER the map, so there is no advantage gained from looking at your opponents set-up., since there is no set-up. So anyone can play the game as a PBEM scenario, which is what you advertised as wanting to play.
I just stuck several scenarios together and called it a tournament.
Please don't let that word throw you.

I called it a tournament for those that like tournaments. They will compete for the prize and medals. It hangs together as a tournament because all the battles have a common theme and share a scoring system. They can still be played as a scenario.
