A recent experience in a match with an opponent having many turn saves has left me wondering if having this game "tool" is worth it? :chin:
In our case, a quick exchange of emails with honest dialogue and explanations resolved our "issue" - but why did it have to come to that point? Without the turn counter, this "issue" would never have come up, no suspicions would have been cast, and our match would have continued without incident?
I believe that 99.9% of Blitz players are honest and have integrity... so why have a game "tool" in place for the .1% dishonest folks? :chin:
Finally, since the counter is only recording the number of game turn saves, that in of itself provides a player with no meaningful data - especially without further explanation from an opponent? A more meaningful data point might be the number of times a player opened and started a scenario?
In any case, this "issue" has left me more determined to advocate for the removal of the Turn Saves Counter in Patch 1.05.
My vote is for removal of it.
P.S. I asked and my opponent agreed that this would be a good topic for the Blitz forums.
It's basically a waste of comp memory usage....waves a red flag where it is not needed......and when playing a large scenario with frequent interruptions requires the extra effort of explaining the saves......it is however almost as good as the annual halftrack debate for the forum:-)
