RE: A Close Run Thing
A few questions;

Quote:I'll make a sticky to our forum reminding members that scenarios should be considered "copyrighted" by Blitz members.

1. What about scenarios that are stock, or were made by folks no longer on the boards?

In such a situation, if we were to

a. Use different file names, and

b. Make sure to use a version moniker (i.e., A New Threat, ver. 1.1)

...would this be acceptable?

2. Is there any way, perhaps in the 1.05 update, to create / code in 'password protected' files for the Map, OOB, and SCN files in the future? This way, if a designer didn't want anyone messing with his work, he could 'lock' his files, meaning that he would choose a password for each of the design files (MAP, OOB, SCN), so anyone wanting to change his scenario would be forced to start from scratch, at best looking off of the original files, which would be a LOT of extra work, thereby discouraging unauthorized tinkering.

On the other hand, if a designer didn't mind others changing his work, he could simply leave the editor files without a password / unlocked.

Is this possible? Since we already have password protected .bte files, I assume it could be done.

Sound off gents. Big Grin

P.S. Earl, thank you for keeping your scenarios available for the club to enjoy. I know I'll get around to playing them all...eventually.
Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.
