John Tiller's crew is still working on producing updates for the series. There are only a few games left that haven't had the new update feature you are looking for.

The magnified 2D map feature is a super great new feature and you are not the only one who is patiently waiting for the whole series to be updated completely. Big Grin

Make sure to give PBEM a try. Once you start and develop some regular PBEM opponents you'll never go back to playing against the AI.
