RE: Introduction
Here is what is left for us to work on if possible:
1. 1807 Eylau-Friedland
2. 1813 Campaign
3. 1814 Campaign
4. Rev Wars Campaigns (there are tons of these but we wonder how many titles we could float with these as they are more obscure).
5. Peninsular Wars - actually an EXCELLENT venue for the campaign engine. The sieges work best in this engine. The game engine cannot simulate sieges.
6. Russo-Swedish War of 1808-09 - I am thinking of tucking this into a game as both Rich Hamilton and I doubt that it would work as a stand alone game - just not enough content.
7. Russo-Turkish War - this would be very interesting but probably would not "float" as its own title. If we made up the icons in a game for #4 then we would have all of the Turks we need. We would have the Russians from the 1807-11 period from the games of #1 & #2.
There are other small campaigns that would be fun to model but they would probably work best in the EAW engine or something like that. They are:
1. Haitian Revolution.
2. Wars of Simon Bolivar, etc.
3. Dutch Colonies fighting.
4. India Campaign involving Wellington.
After the Rev-Nap titles are done we would move on to using the REN engine instead. Titles like the War of the Spanish, Austrian, Bavarian Successions, Seven Years War would do better in the new engine so that we can allow that one to mature with more titles to offer the customer.
For the 19th century I would think that a modified REN engine would work. Not sure how we would model the Franco-Prussian or Crimean War other than use a modified REN engine perhaps. Nap engine has some benefits but REN includes the cavalry charge already.
Not sure what John or Rich is wanting to do for those periods of time but there is interest that is for sure.
