You thought it was the second coming of the Lord Almighty!!
It
was the second coming?
I got involved with boardgames in early eighties with Panzer Leader. A simply awesome game, as with Ivan played first single games until found a kindred spirit, I still know the situations by heart.
Another Avalon Hill game I played extensively was Third Reich, quite enjoyed that scale as well.
With computers, bought myself a Commodere 64 with my first summer job salary. Some fine games there as well, Nato Commander for an example
I recall when things got too hot for Nato commander, he always had a chance to call the tactical nukes into play... There was some sort of moral damage to go with that, though...
Some
awesome :horse: 1st person shooters as well, like for an example Airborne Ranger when it came out was something completely new:
As Talonsoft came out with EF in late nineties, it was an immediate purchase decision. Then WF, then EF II. Played mostly against AI and with Hotseat, joined Blitz only a couple of years ago. What fun it has been ever since.
I have quite limited time to actually play nowadays, the only titles I play are JTCS and Total War series, especially Rome and Empire (as Swedes, would you believe...
).
PS On another note, we are a club of old farts aren't we! :dual4:
