I also like how all the scenarios are bundled into the main download file - just dl and play!
I wanted to point out a few things though that might make it a little better (here I go again, nit-picking).
In 2d mode, the K'talan units have that dark cammo on them (the icon itself) that makes it really hard to see what type of vehicle (or anything really), that the unit is. If the cammo for the 2d icons were lightened, they should be easily readable. The 3d icons look excellent though - no change needed there.
When pressing F2, I notice that units do not have a point value listed - is that intentional? Imagine my surprise when I lost 2 K'talan carriers for THIRTY POINTS each! It's just kinda hard to plan attacks when you can't gauge risk properly (because you don't know the value of your own units). Or is it listed somewhere but I'm just not seeing it?
I do like the little picture icon that replaces the terrain description in the F2 window - it's a little hard to make out the tiny pictures, but it is new and kinda modern-looking. :looks good:
Anyway, still learning the game and enjoying it. Thanks for all your work on this!
Hi John,
I'm real glad you are enjoying it! I'm actually redoing the scenario's, Ashcloud and myself are running through them in chronological order, good stuff!! Do you play against another player at all? That makes it REAL interesting, as you have noticed, the K'talan is very powerful, but also very expensive. This is to reflect the high value, and low chance at replacing the lost units, as
what they brung is all they got!
I don't mind critique at all, this is how things are refined and made better, so thanks for that as well!!
The camo was experimental, I thought it would be something to set them apart, originally they were just grey, but too similar to the Italian grey, so tried the camo, I can do something about that!
When you press F2, look down under the bridges, it is laid out the same as the regular F2, just with it's own flair!
The values are as follows;
Victory Points per Strength Point
Full Strength Points
Maximum Range
Maximum Range vs. Armor/Hard attack
Maximum Range vs. Soft target
Hope that helps?!
If you have any interest at all, we are doing a team game with this mod, feel free to jump in, just let me know. Also, you do know there are two playable Campaign Games with it too, right?
Remember also when getting ready to play a game in the desert, use the provided JSGME to switch out the icons, so the K'talan desert camo is used!
Just yell if you need anything, and thanks for playing my game, I had a lot of fun making it!!
