... knowing the scale of the Gallipoli area I would find it difficult to believe that you could do scenarios at the FWWC level - the area fought over would have been comparable to say ... Okinawa.
Or in other words- the British sector during the initial landings (iow not Suvla Bay), looks to be about 5 km across at its historically furthest extent - Krithia.
ANZAC Cove - it looks like it is about 2 km to Lone Pine .. sure it is a fair whack from both initial areas where landings occurred on 25/04/1915 - but what was there in reality? I guess you can make an argument that ANZAC Cove was not actually supposed to be where the ANZACs landed ... it was something like a mile to the south.
I guess you can vary the scale - but it seems like a challenge to make work.
Gallipoli was a lot about bluff as well -as Mustafa Kamal was a master of it - I think he did more with less than pretty much anyone else in the war.
Now then -if you want to go nuts and do one at SB: FWW level ... now that
would be interesting.
It could well end up being the one game I would want to have on a desert island.
(Incidentally - that map is from some tour site -hence the day 1, day 2 thing - looks like they borrowed a map from an old book.
