The help file for the editor is the place to start. To specifically move a unit on the map you would select the unit or stack and then click the leftmost toolbar button so it is out I think. Then you can click where you want the unit to go. If the button is in the wrong state you will add a unit to the location instead which is easy to fix by removing the unit or reloading the scenario without saving.
