It looks like the hexside template has undergone some changes since the map mod was created, as well as the hex features (woods symbols etc). In short, the mod makes a mess of the map.
You can still use the mod to swap out individual files, though. Out of the box the terrain is a very dark brown. Not good. I was at least able to use Jison's color palette and also the hex symbols (minefields etc) which are one of the mod's best features. So after lots of tinkering I've got the game looking decent.
The thing is, if I'd known the map mod wouldn't work with the game, I probably wouldn't have bought it. So just a head's up. Hopefully Jison sees this and updates his wonderful mod. (I used the one for Tunisia and it made that game look great. I wish JTS would just incorporate these mods into the game from the start!)
Sorry for the inconvenience Fonebone!
Thing is they have made some visual changes to the PzC/MC series – but ONLY on the JTS digital downloads - and I’m afraid this makes the mod uncompatible. (Although it still works as intended with HPS versions.) If they plan to release updates for those of us who have the HPS versions I honestly dont know. Its a bit weird to offer two different versions of the same games, it certainly makes things a bit complicated for a modder anyway.
So to make a long story a little bit shorter: I couldnt update MapMod even if I wanted to, because my titles are all HPS versions.
