I'd prefer AI opponents - I know they aren't as good but I'm on a pretty irregular schedule slipping a turn now and again whenever I can -

so basically, after doing some research I probably want to get Smolensk '41 (for the large number of intro and basic operational engagements) - and Tobruk '41 (for the number of scenarios that are short with fewer units) - as well as for the linked campaign games within it - sound about right?
