RE: Sicily 43 - Race for Messina (Strategy)
Nice mini AAR and some helpful observations too .

The full campaign game at 309 Turns, or the longer scenarios will present significantly different problems for the allies as far as pushing to Messina, especially if the Axis player does not use the Herman Goering Pz. Grenadier Div. to rush the beachhead in early turns, as the AI is prone to do.

Allied air strikes tends to dissipate as the games chugs along, but the Axis will continue automatic daylight attacks on your high value units in T mode ( HQ and Arty.) and since without T mode you`ll never get there, this becomes a big deal along the way IMHO as the Allied HQ`s and Arty don`t shake off disruption fast.

The better quality Italian units ( motorcycle troops ) can be a nasty surprise as well as the axis player who blows the heavy bridges the Allied tanks need.

IMO the full 309 T campaign is too big and slogging for most guys as PBEM but is a rewarding learning experience VS the AI and one of the best non East Front PzC games.
