RE: Camapign 1776
1776 is a good start into the series. A mix of small & large battles. Each force has their positive & negative aspects. I've been playing the EAW series for years. It was my last series I got into for Tiller & it took me a while until I really got into it, but I love the series the most out of the others I have played. Each of the games are different enough that they have their own feel to them, but they have common concepts across the series. They really are Tiller's hidden gems.

After you get acquainted, I suggest you get War of 1812 if you like the series. That one is a lot of fun. It is the most balanced in my opinion, but gives some good challenges.

French & Indian War is great too. Some good fortress sieges in that one and a lot of Natives too. Some massive maps & scenarios.

Mexican-American War is neat because it is different. It's a blend of the EAW with some ACW concepts. It's fun overall, but try the others first.
