I own Normandy 44 JTS 2.0 version. I downloaded the gold update and tried unzipping it in the Normandy 44 directory, and it starts and then pops an error and quits, doesn't finish. I thought it might be because of some mods i had installed so i did a fresh install and the error still happens and the update doesn't finish.
Here's the error text before it closes.
"Can't create output file: d:\ John Tiller Software\ Normandy '44\ Belgian\2DSymbolsLG.bmp "
Always quits at this point. I downloaded and tried it about 5 hours ago
Hi Budd,
That is troubling.
I just tested the file here (the one I uploaded to JTS) and it worked perfectly over a 2.0 Normandy Build.
Can you please try to download directly from here and let me know if you have the same issue?

Thanks,

what i found was there are 0kb country files in the main directory, Belgian, Commonwealth, Poland, Netherlands, which seem to get in the way of the update creating the needed folders. I unzipped the contents of the update and did the copy/paste routine. I renamed those country files in the main directory and the update went through just fine, i don't know if renaming those files will effect the game any but the update finishes and when i start the game and check the version its says the gold version. Haven't played yet.
I uninstalled and cleaned out the Normandy directory. Reinstalled 2.0 and then checked for those 0Kb country files, they weren't there. Downloaded from the link you provided and unzipped the update, everything went fine, no hitches. No idea where those 0Kb country files came from, maybe mod leftovers? as i didn't clean out the files left behind in the Normandy folder the last time i did a fresh install, i just used control panel uninstall. Seems to be good to go, thank for your response.
