A WW1 trench was really quite elaborate. Much more than just a long line of trench cuts in the ground you also had the small "bunkers" that were part of the overall fortification. This can be seen in movies like "Pork Chop Hill" and "Paths to Glory." So the Trench (-40% on defense) fortification is actually more than just an open trench. It includes small bunkers.

I added in one scenario where the USMC forces have to attack a beach with Bunkers and its a nightmare. Even with all of the gunfire at this disposal one of our guys was only able to get off the beach on the SECOND DAY. So really the way that the game plays is very realistic. The terrain, fortifications and the Japanese all combine to really make this one a grinder. Think Italy! Kyushu resembles in its rugged, mountainous features the boot of Italy. Coastline is easier to navigate. When you go inland its a real chore to move.

All of my work is done on the game. At this point the scenario review is almost finished, all game documentation is complete and a product webpage is finished too. Shucks, all David has to do now is light the fuse!
