The engine doesn't work well when real mountains appear. See Tunisia 43. I ditched my Tunisia 43 mod (after some time researching new sources) because there were no way to implement what real mountains (not small elevantions) brings int terms of LOS, accuracy regarding Artillery fire and heavy weapons, defense against assaults, interdiction of movements...
IMO if you use right now a 10 hex visibility then in the plains the game is not fair nor balanced.
