I am looking to see if there is interest in a Western Front tournament. I propose a sequence of scenarios around 30 turns, one scenario selected from these titles, in the order presented. This sequence of scenarios would match the history of the Western front in World War 2.
Alamein ‘42
Tunisia ‘43
Sicily ‘42
Salerno ‘43
Normandy ‘44
Bulge ‘44
Scheldt ‘44
Depending on numbers one or more of the titles might be dropped. Likely we will do 6 titles.

Why around 30 turns? One complaint of typical tournaments is that the scenarios are too short and don’t test all the skills of an entrant (e.g., skills around resting units and recovering men). I would select scenarios that include approximately 2 sets of night turns.

This tournament would start early 2025 and go until the end of 2026. (Like I said, it’s a Long Way to Tipperary  Big Grin ) Assuming 6 titles the estimate for the length of the tournament, using the standard formula of 3 * number of turns + 10 days per scenario formula,  we get the maximum of 30*3*6 + 6*10 = 600 total days. If we start soon enough we could likely get it done by the end 2026, or just after.

Of course, this requires that tournament entrants own all the titles in the list. It’s possible the titles required could be reduced, if that makes it more likely we could get enough entrants (e.g., a Mediterranean title tournament).

The existing scoring system would be used.

Please post here if you would be interested.

Also, if you have any comments on how the tournaments have been run to date, please post here.
