RE: World in Flames Redux
Colonel Slack-Goodspeed and I just finished, with a Major Victory for my Allies.

A truly fun scenario, with tricky terrain and trickier OOBs. Thank you CSG for the great turn rate and gentlemanly demeanor. Greatly appreciated.

I'm now 0-2 in the tournament for the allies. Ugh. Hawk Kriegsman thumped me. I narrowed his lead to just a minor going into his last turn, but it rained metal so we all ran back down the hill. Tough scenario. Erik did a great job clogging up the pass.

Allies still in the lead in the 2nd round, 2 majors to 1. No thanks to me. ~sigh.
Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly

Thanks Dave it was a tough fight, and you played well.

Ed and I completed our game. Despite a determined and skilled Ethiopian effort, the Italians were able to secure a minor victory.

"Schwerpunkt75, by the way, is really good. Eat your Wheaties before you play him. I had toast.
Dave"

The store was out of Wheaties. My Ethiopians went up the hill and watched Jack and Jill go tumbling down.
Schwerpunkt75 was awesome. His defense of the passes was textbook. The terrain was a challenge for the attacker and he held a master class in defense. Respect3

Good luck to his next opponent. Buds

Ashcloud and I finished our game from round 2. Result: Axis Minor Victory. Smile

My Italians rose to the task. However, this was probably the most rugged terrain I ever fought across, brutal!!

Cheers!

Greetings and Salutations to our Fearless Leader King Scud:

(AKA, "his scudness"...')

My brave Ethiopian lads scrambled up a lot of nasty territory to get into a rugby scrum with the Italians.
We managed to reach the ridge, and after that it was problematic (like this pun) for the Pisanos.

Result: Allied Major Victory

My opponent Larry fought well and this was a fun test for those working on their "assault game".
I look forward to gaming with Larry again, and that is what the tournament is all about.

It's like inviting 24 old cave bears and ill tempered sabre tooths over for a drink....we need to meet each other and actually function as human beings occasionally rather than soulless automata...hiding in our basements hammering the keyboard to death...;)

Regards,

Dan

RE: World in Flames Redux
Dan the Man puts the allies in the lead this round 45 points to 33, with two more games left to report, Dust Particle vs Outlaw Jose Wales and VoteQuimby vs Deturk. Interestingly the win/loss for this scenario for this round is even at 5 and 5, no draws. It's the Allied guys who have held the axis to minors who have saved the day, so far. Two axis majors would really blow right about now, so the pressure is on for the Dust and VQ. Come on Allies!
