RE: 1914 Valour - FWWC Tournament Round 1 VERSION 2.0
I held the initial entrenchments until the Germans booted me out. Once those initial positions fell, I felt no ground was sacred. I found it better to retreat a hex or two rather than try to swap out units to hold the current line. The reserves in the north arrived at the front just in time to toss up a second line. I committed one division from the middle reserves to the north initially but quickly decided to send almost all of it crawling northeast behind the front. The south was quiet.

I think I may have mentioned my color blind mistake already. Air recon showed my opponent was moving a heavy force toward the exit objectives top map. So I decided to make a slow withdrawal towards the exit objective on my right. Unfortunately that was my opponent's exit not mine, but it took me several turns to realize it.

It's difficult for the Germans to use their numerical superiority, due to the many streams and the central part of the map being at a higher elevation.

I think it would be hard to keep the Germans from securing at least a single 500 VP objective and the four 250 VP objectives at the initial frontline. Holding Aarschot and the 500 VP objective east of it would require some luck, but it should be possible.

Even without withdrawing units, inflicting a minor defeat on the Germans should certainly be possible. If you exit the 6e Division, you would lower German VP's by over 1000 points.
