As kit buying is directly linked to performance, I can't see this flying... it would of course depend upon the players, but I would not hold out hope that any would be interested.

I think one of the problems with the whole "who's the best" question is there are so many different ways to ask that question.
One person might be the best in terms of being able to give you a tough game no matter what kit he's handed. Another might be a kick butt handler of armor. Another might be a tough infantry player. Some people do really well in small battles, but can't manage a larger one. And so on...
Personally, I think the best way to answer "who's the best" would be to play blue on blue with identical forces on a symetrical map (What, you don't know how to play blue on blue? Send Leto a PM and he'll give you the cheat codes).
