One point to note on mine visibility: a routing enemy will set off its own AP minefield. Even if you had no line of sight to the minefield whatsoever, the minefield will now become visible to you.

There is a small explosion when infantry set off a mine, but it really is quite small; easy to miss.

i always try and mix AP/AT mines together...
squads get across an area,they think Tanks will too...
then AT mines go off...
if troops rideing and jump off,
they go right into AP minefeild...
