sound looping problem
happy holidays to all,

i have a new system with windows XP...have no problem installing or playing any of the campaign series games,i.e. wf,ef11,dg,rs,and dgvn.

my problem arises with the sound looping...air attacks and mine explosions are the worst, they repeat for as long as i continue to play, other sounds like movement and firing repeat usually until i select and use another unit. saving and rebooting works usually with the movement and battle sounds, but mine explosions and air attacks and sometimes movement sounds will repeat until i end the turn or save and exit.

have set the compalibity mode too win.98/ME for all games and also have looked to update any device drivers, but says there are no updates available...

just wondering if someone could point me to the right drivers for this problem

thks

RE: sound looping problem
The same thing happens to me occassionally, but only during a pbem turn replay. I've tried changing the compatibility modes to every possible choice and the problem still persists. Windows/98 seems to work best. But it still happens to me about 15% of the time.

I just let it go during the replay and my portion of the pre-plotted indirect fire phase. Then I save the game at that point, exit the game and then load the game again...and play my portion of the move with no further problems.

I've been doing it this way for over 3 years and it's the only solution that I've been able to come up with. The alternative is to hear all of those explosions and airstrikes etc during my entire turn. Forgetaboutit..

I just save the turn then reopen the game. It is a just live with thing. Are you up for a game of DGVN? Merry xmas buddy.
