Seems that the only tactic available to the allies in this scenario is to move their infantry en-masse one hex at a time straight into the enemy guns and arty and get shot to peices.... is it too early to surrender? Violin

The dogs of war unleashed.......

On that fateful July morn, the sound of thousands of angry canine ripped through the bocage. The poor defenders of Bolleville didn't have a chance.
The mongrel hordes of drab swept forth from their dens. Angry unshaven men with rabid eyes charged ahead with cruel intentions.

News of the Bolleville garrisons fate reached Strumbannfuhrer Kirch at his HQ in La Haye Du Puits. As he read how those who stood fast were pounded to dust and those who ran were cut down, he trembled. He issued the order to defend the town to the death and then headed south in search of a safer HQ site.

Heavy Metal Thunder turn 10 ( I think )

Cpt. Tide1 leads the mixed tank company down off the reverse slope of the hill after a call from the FO lets him know there is a PzIV platoon heading in his general direction. Cpt. Tide1 has the tanks pull in behind a tree line. Nice little ambush site he thinks as he takes another pull of the Jim Beam.

A short time latter Cpt. Tide1 sees the German tank platoon moving across the open fields and almost spits out a mouth full of whiskey in suprise. Those guys have balls the size of churchbells he mutters. As the Germans pass the hidden tanks Cpt. Tide1 orders the heavies and the Wolverines to attack. The American tanks catch the Germans in the left flank with armore peircing shot,the suprise is complete and the surviving German tanks turn tail and run Cpt Tide1 leads the Wolverine platoon forward to administer the coup de gace to the rest of the German tanks.

Cpt. Tide1 looks out over the wreakage of the German tanks and hands the Jim Beam to his Wolverine crew,good work men he says, then he gets on the radio and orders the company to move to the secondary ambush site. Those sausage chewing winos will be back for sure.

The way my turn 1 in Cross of Lorraine started it will most certainly be the next life. I set out in tanks and looks like I will arrive in wheelchairs.....Oh well we all have our crosses to carry!!
