WinMBT PBEM opponent wanted

This novice wishes to do battle, any takers?

I can manage about 5 turns a week (usually away for weekends, not always, but I'd rather be upfront about that one).

Preferences:

Nation: any
Era: 1978 - 1988
Air Sorties: 0
Points: 3000-4000
Map Size: 80x100

How much of a novice? I can handle a new guy. My last crop is pretty much whipin up on me nowdays. I'll check and see what DL slots I have open and send you an e-mail if you are interested. I have broken in a rookie or two and I'm pretty gentle about it, as long as you are a true rookie. I had a bad experience last year. It seems the player's idea of novice meant this was his first game on his 99th install of SP. He set up for a blood match while I bought and set up with the idea of helping someone out. About half way thru the sausage machine I realized that I had been had. 90% of battles are won or lost before that first unit is moved. It's sometimes possible to recover from a tactical mistake but not from bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Well I had one that got hold of me over at Shrapnel forums, but then I just stopped getting email from him. Tried again last night and the email that had been working is now bouncing so I signed up here.

Grumbler, well I can tell you that I have read alot of guides for this game (including all the stuff on this site, thanks admin :) ) , I've played dozens of scenarios (all against AI), 1 campaign and 1 PBEM match about a year ago in SPWW2 (which I lost).

I am alot more confident about how things work now, such as the use of SEADs (which I never did understand before), arty etc. If there is anything that I must still experiment with it would be the swapping of leadership in that formations screen (reassigning units to different leaders etc) but I'm getting there.

With that in mind you can decide how easy you want to go on me if your still up for a game.
