TURN 300!
Hello to all,
BUSHMAN(Allies) reporting in,just reached turn 300 in the 750 turn Normandy campaign game against Widower(Axis).We started in May 2006,should be done sometime in 2009?
Situation as of July 5th,1944
VII Corps holds the line running from Lessay to St. Sauveur Lendelin
with it goal of Countances,facing the 17th,9th and 10th SS Divisions
VIII Corps dug in between St. Sauvuer and Tribhou,no significant action along that front.FJ Regt.6 and 265 Inf Div are the main opposition there.
V Corps dug in north and n.west and n.east of St Clair sur L'Elle,facing the
2nd Panzer and what remains of Panzer Lehr ,little or no action along this front
30th Corps is in the Baleroy area,engaged against elements 2nd FJ Corps
front is mired in a standstill for that area
8th Corps is west of Baleroy to the Orne river and is in a fierce battle near
Evercy against the 12th SS Div,remnants of the 277th Div. and the 276th Div.Caen was taken weeks ago by 1st Corp and is now secure .
1st and 12th Corps ,led by 1st Corp have crossed the Orne and re-taken all areas originaly held by the British Airborne,which was wiped out early in the campaign due to the failure of forces from Sword to reach PEGASUS in a timely manner.British and Commonwealth forces have reached the Dives river and are pressing south towards the open plains south east of Caen.
