PBEM Turn Replay

PBEM Turn Replay
Hi All
Does anyone know if it is possible to pause a PBEM turn replay? I like to watch my opponents turn. But in a game like Stalingrad or Typhoon this can take 30 minutes to watch. Invariably the phone will ring, or my kids will need attention, or the dinner is burning etc. To be able to pause the replay would be a big help. If it is not a feature perhaps it would be nice to introduce it. I realize hitting escape will stop the replay but when you restart it starts at the begining again.
Thanks

I have not heard about any pause function. But you can decide the
speed of the replay. I can't not now remember the buttons to push. But I do
think you can find it in the manual. Hope this help.

I never found a pause function either. Wish for it for the same reasons.

RE: PBEM Turn Replay
F6 is normal replay speed. F8 is fast. (F7 may be a speed between the two, don't remember right off.) You can change between the two during the replay. F8 is very fast.

Note that if you end the replay in F8 "fast" mode your fire combat reacts much too quickly during your turn. A way out of this is to make the first attack of your turn an artillery attack, using the artillery dialog. The first fire of artillery will be very fast, but the second (and all subsequent attacks by any unit - artty or direct) will be at normal speed.

Anyway, I don't know of any pause function either, but using F8 greatly speeds up the wait while things happen out of sight. Then hit F6 when the visible action resumes.

I like to play long campaigns and, like you, don't really have the time to watch the full replays on normal mode. I use F7 to increase replay speed to a level where I can still work out what's going on and where but not so fast that things become a blur. A typhoon turn will take about 5 to 10 mins to watch like this.

I believe there are several speed levels by pressing the F7 multiple times, or at least it has always seemed that way to me. :). The full list of speed keys from the manual are

F5 – slow the speed of the A/I processing.
F6 – return A/I processing to normal speed.
F7 – increase the speed of the A/I processing.
F8 – put the A/I in the highest possible processing mode (use F6 to return to normal).

RE: PBEM Turn Replay
to add to this, is it possible to tun off "on map results" during pbem replay?

RE: PBEM Turn Replay
Do you mean to see the dialog box, rather than to nothing? If so, then no, whatever your opponent played the turn with is what you will see regardless of your settings, if he switches part way through the turn, then you will see a mix depending on what that part of the turn used.

Of course, if you just mean turning off the on map results, hit escape :-).

RE: PBEM Turn Replay
When watching the replay, once the action starts press the F7 key and the sound will stop and the turn will zoom through to the finish, in this mode you are still alerted to assaults which still have the appropriate sound !!!.
The only reason l watch the replay at normal speed is if l am on the defensive and want to monitor for any breakthrough, if on the attack it's F7 every time for me.
However, lastly if you want value for money just settle down and watch the replay/movie every turn.

RE: PBEM Turn Replay
Thanks. F8 is too fast for me. F7 makes things much better. Still a pause would be nice. cheers
