c_Question Mark  Advice re scenario design
:conf:
In a scenario I'm designing, could someone kindly clear a confusion I'm suffering, please!
My total force, made up of 4 Divisions = approx 4500 Vpts, including leaders.
Running the game, (I'm halfway through) I'm showing 4124 pts remaining, in the strength dialogue but the losses are showing 10076?
My co-designer and I wanted to create a battle with more or less, equal points value, but we're now wondering what figures we are meant to use?
In the OOB Editor, I think I'm right in saying, the figure in brackets by a unit, is the morale figure and there is nothing to show the value in points of the unit.
We therefore laid out all the forces on the map in the scenario file and added up the total points for each side using the strength menu.
Hoping someone can help me make sense of this!
regards
Peter

RE: Advice re scenario design
What a lot of work! I never count units.... well I count Batallions but that's it really.

Point value doesn't really mean anything. A VG platoon is 5 SP, a US rifle platoon is 3 sp. Guess who is gonna win in a battle with equal point value. Transports also have points, but do not affect balance. If one side (Allies) has plenty of transports and the other side has these points in the shape of firing units...

My advice: make it easier on yourselves .... count batallions...

RE: Advice re scenario design
thanks Huib.
In theory, what I tried to achieve is, if a German Organisation is stronger than an American equivalent, then I wanted to add fighting units where required to balance out the strength.
I found out now from my mate that we were confusing SP/VP's for units, hence the variation in loss points.
All clear now, thanks for your info

Peter
