I have to say that the new 1.05 version is a damn site more playable than the previous version i played, 1.03 was when i gave up on CMSF.

I've even had a BMP fire an ATGM at an Abrams flank and get a kill which i'd never seen before, but there are still many design choices that drive me nuts.

Meh. Their forums are good for a laugh. It’s not often one can find a company that thinks it’s good PR to insult their customers. In public. For all to read. That IS funny.

Anyway, V04 also had rave reviews when it appeared. Then came the apologies for some things still being not quite right. Then came the assertions that "not quite right" wasn't quite right, things were actually broke as hell. Then came the evidence for those assertions, and the great silence from anyone who actually knows anything about the software. Then came V05. All taking place in a constant background drone of how much "potential" the game has.

Time will tell if V05 follows the same arc.

I have to admit that 1.05 does make the game a lot better and more enjoyable. That does not mean to say I would rather play it as it still falls short of what we all know and love about CM. Those who have SF should update to .05 and see what they think.

Well, if that were the case then CMBO with its TWELVE patches would have destroyed Battlefront long ago.

Just as long as they get it right, I say......because it will all impact on CM2 WWII! When it ever appears.

1.05 seems to be a significant improvement in infantry pathfinding and tactical movement, amongst other things.
