D85 for Glenn
Am I correct in assuming units should not be able to deploy from travel on a one hex bridge ? I suppose smaller units could...

RE: D85 for Glenn
To the best of my knowledge any unit on a one hex water hex bridge has to stay in travel mode if they can not exit the bridge to the land. Therefore, only move out onto such a hex when your sure the other side is unoccupied or there is a good chance your unit is strong enough to assault any enemy unit on the other side to get off the bridge.

If there are wired bridges in the scenario, then you decision to move onto the bridge becomes more difficult. If the bridge blows, your troops are dea in the water!

Dog Soldier: You pretty much summed up what I had thought, but look at the example.
I was playing against the AI and came up against a WP AT unit deployed on the bridge. The picture in the example is a 18 gun Katyusha unit.

I can't see much from your picture - but I tested my game with various units and I can't move a DEPLOYED (non T mode) unit on to a FULL WATER Bridge.

Of course there could be something weird happening wrt this particular units, component and or hex but I can't even tell where on the map this might be either so I can't set up a test.

If you want to send me a BTL or a BTE file (with password) I willbe happy to look closer at it but I am only guessing. Note also, if the Scn in question is a Mod then it could be related to something that was added and not something in the main game either.

Anyway - a file is the way to go, even if you have to set up something like this with a DEFAULT Game scn to illustrate this.

The picture is of a deployed 18 gun Katyusha that moved onto the bridge in T-mode and deployed on the bridge.AI controled AT unit did the same.I could send a file if you want. This is 2 different stock scenario's.

Glenn,

I reproduced Kuriltai's example in S42 with a soviet AT/AA battery. Battle file sent to you.

RE: D85 for Glenn
OK - I see what your looking at now - this is not a bug really - it is a program exception because it is possible to fire Arty from a bridge and we had to pick between allowing Arty (only arty mind you) to deploy on the Bridge to fire.

Arty can't assault - and other combat units can't deploy.

I would never have tried it unless I had not seen the AI do it. :) Also wish I had just PM'd you about it. ;)

Thanks for the help Dog Soldier.

I would not worry about keeping this a secret. Since the guns have very low assault values, any combat unit that assaults them, even in travel mode as this case, will most likely wither push them off the bridge or destroy the guns in place.
