I was a little bit surprised about the very good form of the tanks. Into a german forum i read that the mud preserved the tanks.

Yep, I followed this story awhile ago, fascinating, a young child saw it go into the water when he was young, and for quite awhile after bubbles escaped. Years later he revealed this info, which led to the resurrection!! Amazing the peat bogs over there really preserve those things!
