Thumbs_Up  Greybeard looking for a big bash
Hello Guys,

I'm finding a little more time on my hands to add one more game.. been a while since I played MBT, so..

how about a 45+K point game:

My Swede's allied with Italy- early 1974
vs any 2 nations of your choice

Suggested terms: (all are negotiable)

map from ww2 or MBT to be agreed upon.. but at least 140 x 140
visibility of 40
turns = 40
Air/helo's: TBD
Artillery limited to (on or off-map)1 battery (4 units max) per inf battalion (3 companies) of grunts (Armor co does not apply) & 1 FO required per battery. FO can only direct fire of assigned battery. If Off-map no '+' batteries allowed

1 ammo unit per on map battery

mortars attached to companies fire under direction of CO & no ammo supply.

1st responder gets the game..

Cheers!

Hello Dan,

What do I have in mind?

A big slugfest.. :) what ever might tickle your fancy.. cost in 1974 is still pretty low.. will be pretty hard pressed to spend all those points before limiting out the game..

meeting engagement.. you take you pick of what you want from any two countries.. just keep the '0' size units to a reasonable number.. like 2 snipers per company etc..

trying to set it so that artillery is useful but not dominant..

45K allows players to go as expensive, or cheap as they want.. pretty much opens the purse strings with little or no limitations.. you don't have to spend it all..

Thinking about making it interesting and only counting flag possession for victory purposes (ala ET tourney)

toss me some Ideas, and lets work something out..

FYI I set our game to 15K in 1973 and bought about three brigades + on a 200 x 160 map.

Chris knows how to manage things on a budget.. having experience from Canada armed forces (no insult intended Chris).. Americans like gadgets and gizmo's, so we like a few extra cool looking buttons (that probably have no function) that brings the cost up a bit..

:)

Didn't say that we had to use all 45K.. just gave the option to do so.. sometimes it's just kind of fun to get what you want, from where you want :)

It isn't an insult when you speak the truth. I actually meant to say 3 battalions + (may even be 4). What is making me really sick is that in the 80s and 90s the Canadian population wanted the military disbanded and for us to rely on the USA for defence. But now that we are in combat we are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I am so sick of "I want to thank you for what you are doing". I even had a guy buy me a jug of draft in a bar one night...total BS, but I still took the jug!

I dont know how, but im going to try and spend every penny, its not often I get such a high budget to play with, it opens up the possibility for some very heavy action and forces.

If it's any consolation, speaking as an adult Canadian during the 80s and 90s, all my circle of friends & family (all non-military) deplored the neglect of the forces by the governments of the day. So it wasn't the whole Canadian population that felt that way.

And if it makes you feel any better - I won't buy you a jug of draft! :smoke:

cheers
