Just got power back (never realize how much you miss the PC and TV) and I can honestly say....that was a sh*t kicker. Spent last week cuttin' trees off my neices' houses (one a total loss) and 2 friends' houses are just.....gone (Galveston). Had to go down to the coast 3 days after the storm to repair a lift for the relief and it was a shock.

My house made it through ok (my oaks had us worried for a bit though). Word of advice....It's best to be drunk when a hurricane comes through.....A few Ibuprofen and you can still cut fallen trees up the next morning but ya seem to forget the really scary sh*t.

Glad to hear you're OK. Are you not supposed to say that you discovered great literature or had some sort of learning experience in adversity?

I'm with you though - getting drunk is probably the best choice.

Ike Sucked.......surely that is very harsh!! He may not have been a commander with great tactical or operational skills, but as the Supreme Commander of a very complex coalition, few could have bettered him. And not the worst US President, by a long way.
