PANZER DAN 35, POS 65 (tac win for POS)

Same drill again; my left-hand panzer group combs the russkis out of the trees in line abreast formation, while the right-hand group goes down the road in line astern looking for keyhole shots against russian armour..
In the event the clock ran out before both sides could get to grips..

Panzer Dan's German kampfgruppe cut a swathe of destruction down the map as it rolled eastward like a steamroller,but a hiding russian mortar kept the wheatfield flag red. The clock saved my Russian rail garrison in the foreground who were huddling in stark terror at the horrific fate that was about to befall them..

9 MIRROR RESULTS STILL TO COME IN, but with only a couple of days left to the end of the tourney I seriously doubt if any of them will finish, most went AWOL without a word weeks ago..

WINNER ANDRE IN ACTION

My 8-wheeler pokes its snout into the city centre and is shredded by a burst from Andre's 37mm flak gun..

Far from home in the forbidding depths of Mother Russia, my leading panzers begin climbing Andre's hill but his 57mmATG begins speaking and quickly knocks out two..

THE FATAL BLOW THAT WON ANDRE THE TOURNEY- He launches a surprise armoured strike up the road from the town and wipes out the rest of my panzer spearhead!
With only 4 turns left I calculated that if I hurled the panzers forward on 'fast' they'd be on the banks of the Volga before the end of the game. Bad call.
Andre caught them flat-footed, my boys desperately fired back but missed most of the time because firing on 'fast' means you usually can't hit a barn door..

7 of my panzers advanced to the hill in the background and were butchered there, then on the last turn Andre sent this lone T-34 to seize the woods flag but I had a spare panzer in reserve to knock it out.
Although I ended up with 4 flags to Andre's 2, the price was far too heavy- a total of 11 wrecked panzers..

Having racked up a big win in the first game, Andre played this rematch safe and didn't stick his panzers necks out, they cut the rail line here and only got a Draw, but it was still enough to win him the Trophy..
(First game 66-34, second game 51-49 gives a total of 117-83.
83 subtracted from 117 leaves 34 which was his final score)

Just for the record here's are the flag captures achieved by the German players, but of course games aren't won by flags alone but also by kill scores so don't read too much into these shots. Interestingly nobody captured all 6 flags. (I managed it a few times but only because I had more attempts at it than anybody else)
