How do you play?
I play with them "off" so I can hear better what's going on.

RE: How do you play?
I play with it on, but DK's reasons for playing with it off intrigue me. I'll have to try it.

On.
The ambient sounds, especially if it's raining, helps take my mind off the fact that I'm getting my butt kicked.

RE: How do you play?
I often play with all of the sounds off because, ahem, I'm kicking out a few turns during my, uh, mental health breaks at work :P

RE: How do you play?
I play them on and I also add sound clips to some of my emails to startle my opponents if they have their sound up. Nothing like a startlingly loud "Spartans, Prepare For Glory" to blow them out of their chairs and establish early dominance :)

Tree and ambient sounds 'off' for order phase as I don't want any distractions. Trees and sounds both 'on' for movement phase as I find it more immersive, (although I agree, those bleedin' birds are a real irritation!)
