Urgent all mail to MSN accounts getting bounced back.

Cant get any mail out to MSN users keeps getting blocked for some reason.

Same thing Erik it was refused ie it has MSN in the address.This has only started from Thursday so who knoes whats up.IE your not the only one anyone i try to send to who is using MSN mail is being refused.

Why not get a gmail address ?

It usually is the result in an attempt to shut down a mass spammer. They block the entire network and it takes about a week to get the individual accounts going again. Always a good idea to have an alternate back-up email to use when this happens.

It's not a microsoft exculsive thing.
Open a hotmail or gmail account.
When servers get attacked by hackers and virus' they sometimes have to "reset" and scrub.
Every ISP has had their troubles.

You would not be mad at the police or the bank if a bank gets robbed?

LOL Well ive had no probs with my ISP ED so far.Fair point though just have to wait and see if everything with MSN returns to normal so i can send mail to them.

This place will let you know if it's you (or your ISP) that's being blacklisted for spamming: http://www.spamhaus.org/lookup.lasso. Just type in your IP (http://whatsmyip.org/ if you're not sure what it is). There are a few blacklists that ISPs use, not sure what Microsoft uses, but I'm pretty sure it's a European company (Spamfighter? - I think they bought them, but maybe not). If you're being blacklisted and using DSL, contact your ISP. If you have a cable modem, try resetting it and drawing a new IP; otherwise call the cable company.

I love gmail and have a hotmail account too. Hotmail's OK, but constantly playing catchup with google. Google's spam filtering seems much more effective, too, with less false positives. They give you so much free space you can literally use them for backups, plus you don't have to log in once a month to keep your account active.

If you or anyone else wants a gmail address I still have over 90 invites. Not sure if you still need to be invited or not, but if so let me know and I'll send you one.
