Divisional colors
I've played too many games where neighboring divisions had colors that were almost identical. Is there a way to change divisional colors and avoid eyestrain?

I just go into the editor and change the division's name slightly - add a period - and presto the color is different.

And that does not cause any problems with game replays in PBEM games? Just curious.

RE: Divisional colors
No, it won't Brian. The game uses your copy of the oob to find the unit name from the unit ID is all - as long as the original unit is left rather than deleted and replaced, its unit ID will be the same as on your opponent's machine and it will find the unit and use the name found on each machine as needed.

RE: Divisional colors
I'm now tempted to change names to something I understand, too. All the foreign nomenclature has overloaded my brain ... especially in D'85 with Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, French, Belgian, etc....... :conf:

But then every time there is an update on the oob you will have to re-do it...

I don't think so - Df85 doesn't have Spanish and I suspect the OOB Rev is referring to is not the default OOB.

Anyway - always a fine line knowing how much "foreign nomenclatures" are best to use in any game. I know I still have trouble with the French and Belgians in F40 even with the key we provided in the notes. It is just not intutitive to me - but other like yourself are perfectly comfortable with it.

Sentimental old fool that I am, I love the foreign unit designations. They add flavor. Big Grin
