RE: Flare for Belisarius
Could not attach the game file.

"The type of file that you attached is not allowed. Please remove the attachment or choose a different type."

Tried both uncompressed .bte format and compressed .rar.

RE: Flare for Belisarius
Try a bte. file in a .zip file, as you see below it works for me.

Well I don't have WinZip. WinRaR is free so I use it instead.

HI NICK:

I RECEIVED YOUR HOTMAIL E-MAIL OK.

HOWEVER, THE GAME COULD NOT READ THE .RAR FILE.

IF YOU RIGHT CLICK ON THE .BTE FILE AND GO TO "SEND TO"--THEN COMPRESED FILE DOESN'T IT GO INTO A ZIP FOLDER??

I assume you have PC that does not use XP as the zip feature is built into that OS, so you don't have to pay for it.

I have also had issues with players trying to use .rar, zip works much better.

Well no, I'm on a Vista machine.

Belisarius you can not open the .rar file you have to extract the game file from it first. I'll send you the full game file then.

Game file sent, should be in your inbox. :)

Vista will zip files for you automagically also - as Belisarius mentions above. I do it when I go to attach a file to an email, I right click on the file after choosing attachment, then Sent To, Compressed File and it compresses it into a zip file and comes up with a name matching the file but with a zip extension.

RE: Flare for Belisarius
It has been a long time since I have sent compressed files; they transmit fine just as a bte file.

I find zip files allow for easier file management when playing multiple games with multiple opponents. A lot less clicking to get the bte file where it belongs. The confirmation option is nice to make sure the time stamps are correct on a bte file inside a zip envelope is a nice to have management tool.

Just my $0.02.
